ECG Measurement with NI 9205 or AI Module

Hi I am try create a medical test device for 12-Lead ECG Measurement, for which we were considering procurement of NI-9205 however, I am not sure if we can get the Amplitude accuracy since the voltage is ranging from 50microvolts to 5millvolts, additionally the we also need to capture the signal and represent it as on ECG monitor and perform analysis on the P, Q, R, S, T pulse on the ECG graph. has anyone worked on a similar requirement and suggest what hardware we should be considering?

Hi linu95k,

for very fine grain voltage steps consider the NI-9239. It has 24bit quantization, which results in voltage resolution of ca 1.2 microvolts for its -10V to 10V range.

Calculation: (10 - (-10)) / 2^24 = 1.2 * 10^-6

Alternatively you can stay with the NI-9205 and use an amplifier to increase the signals amplitude. An amplifier will also add noise to the signal though.
