ERRO when LabView starts up

Every time I start up LabView I get an error list box. The top box swere it says Items with errors shows No VIs with errors and in the details box it reads. Choose a VI from the list of names to see errors. Click any error in the list to dispaly more details about it here. Double-click any front panel or block erro, or clickk the show Error button, to highlight the object causing error. The noVIs with error is highlighted and the only buttons that is active is close and help and if I try to double click the error it locks up and goes to nonresponse. If I just leave everthing alone for about a min or more it will go away. I loaded Labview on another computer and it does the same on it. Is there a fix for this?

Hi DoratoDuke,

Thanks for the post!

What version of LabVIEW are you using?

Could you also provide a screenshot of the screen you see?

From what I can remember - if your doing debugging with the show error box open, and you shutdown LabVIEW while its open. If you then re-open the vi it will automatically load the show error box too.

But if indeed this is 'unexpected' behavior I can only suggest two things:

1) Did you install anything new recently to your machine that could have caused this?

2) Try reinstalling it using the MsiBlast (or equivalent) method.

Kind Regards,

I removed LabView with MSIBlast and reloaded the program. When I start up the program it boots up normal then down in the right hand corner it will say converting toolkits and I will see the tool window comes up and then the error list box will display I let it run the error box will go away and the program is ready to be use. I did notice the problem started when it want me to purchase other components that I don't have in LabView like the Vision and motion, some of the toolkits and modules. I have LabView 8.6 Full Development system with MathScript if this information helps. When I installed LabView I just let it run and not customize it.

Do you see this behavior when you are just opening LabVIEW or when you are opening a vi that in turn opens LabVIEW to run.  If you are seeing it when you are opening a vi it may be expected behavior.

The attached picture shows normal loading of sub vi behavior

Hi Hubeiren,

As Justin asked earlier, are you opening LabVIEW.exe or are you just openeng a VI from windows explorer? If you are doing the latter, this is expected behavior. Otherwise, please post a screenshot of what you are seeing so that we can help you out a bit better.

Cheers!

Hi Hubeiren_MA,

This problem can sometimes crop up when the Internet Toolkit is not activated or is expired.

To fix this:

1) Go to NI License Manager and verify that the Internet Toolkit is expired.  (look for a half red square divided diagonally, this represents expired software)

2) Uninstall the expired software by going to Control Panel»Add or Remove Programs»National Instruments Software»Change/Remove.

3) Reboot your machine and open LabVIEW.

Have a great day,
