Error 7 looking for "CMP Compare Hierarchies.vi" when comparing VI hierarchies

That file is nowhere in my National Instruments directory.

What's a good fix for this?

Do you have procmphier.llb   (  ...\LabVIEW xx\project\procmphier.llb)?

That's where it resides in LV6.1.  Might have changed in newer versions.

Hi bmihura,

For LabVIEW 6.1, 7.0, 7.1, and 8.0, the CMP Compare Hierarchies.vi is located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW x.x\project. The VI resides in the procmphier.llb library file.

Sure enough, that worked, thanks.

Is there an easy way to report bugs online?

There's a minor bug where the names of VIs in the warning box won't fit if their paths are too long, and there's no way to expand to box or otherwise get at the VI's name.

I've the same problem and do have the file procmphier.llb in my C:\program files\Nation Instrument\LabView 7.1\project directory and it still not work.  Is there any suggestions on what should I do?

I'm able to run "procmphier.llb" directly, try that.

Either LabVIEW lost its internal link to that LLB file, or the LLB is corrupt. LLBs self-destruct sometimes.

How do I run "procmphier.llb" directly?  I tried to double click on the file but it kept giving me option to run the file.  Is there any special things I need to do in order to run the ".llb" file.  Please give me instructions.

If you have LabVIEW installed, it is supposed to open when you double click it.

Try opening it through LabVIEW:

1. Create a new black VI.
2. Select "File >> Open...".
3. Browse to that LLB file, and open it.

That work.  Thanks.  I tried to compare two VI hierarchy and get the following error:

Error 7 occurred at Invoke Node in CMP Get VI Hierarchy.vi->CMP Get VI Hierarchy Correspondence.vi->CMP Compare Hierarchies.vi

Any idea what is this error is about?
