Hi JeffH5,

Are you reading historical string trends? If so, se below. Otherwise please provide more info.

Ben,

No historical strings are being used. Here are a few related items I found out this morning: Current version of LabVIEW is 6.1, Professional Cntrl Edition with DSC on W2K. This same program ran perfectly on a similar system with LabVIEW 6.0. What I find now is when I open my "MAIN.VI" and wait around 30 seconds (not starting it) I get an error message box "DSCEngine.exe has generated errors and will be closed" it closes the engine then restarts it again. When I run "MAIN.VI" which lauches four programs it starts up fine then proceeds to display the historical database error codes.

I have found there are a few differences between LV 6.0 and 6.1. Most of which have been by trail and error.

Are the errors that you are getting LabVIEW errors or Windows errors? The error code that you specified earlier sounds like a Windows error. If the errors that you are getting are Windows errors, then you may want to try uninstalling LabVIEW DSC and reinstalling. If they are LabVIEW error codes, then those error codes would be helpful in determining what is going wrong.

What I have done so far was to uninstall all LabVIEW and other related NI modules from Windows. Edited the registry to remove any items releated to LabVIEW and then reinstalled the software. This cleared up all the DSC engine faults that I was having. However, trying to run HTV (Historical Trend Viewer) I can not change the date and time stamp on my data, it always folds back to a March, 1998 as soon as it is started up to collect data. Also when I try to export the data even though it is being displayed, there is nothing in the export file.

I have pretty much given up on 6.1, the local NI Sales Engineer is supposed to be in the next day to look at this one issue. In the mean time I'm going to use a new computer and try loading LabView to
see if the problem still exists.

Hey Jeff,

this error code seems to me really strange and might be related to the implementation of LabVIEW DSC and the Citadel Database. This error should never appear. You should maybe contact National Instruments Technical Support and ask them if you can send your example which reproduces the problem. www.ni.com/ask

I assume you have LabVIEW DSC 6.1 with Logos/Citadel 4.4.

Or you could attach it here and maybe someone finds a wired programming issue in your application.

Regards
Roland
