Error: Windows SDK function

A problem with Application Builder in LabVIEW 8.5.

I get the following error report when trying to build a project:
   *****************************
    Error:Windows SDK function returned an error. (Error code -12)
    Error accessing build path "C:\ [path]"
    Error  creating directory "C:\[path]"
    The system cannot find the apth specified.
    *** End Error Report **************

Being logged on as the administrator, there isn't a problem creating/accessing  the directory  C:[path].

This is the third issue dealing with LabVIEW/Application Builder this week.

What kind of application distribution were you trying to create. Also is the parent of the target directory only accessible to the administrator?

I would recommend you to check your file access settings for the different users on your computer

Hi Mehak,

Sorry for the long delay - I have been quite sick for the last few days.

The application distribution that I would like to create is one that is  based on an  previsously built VI executable, and I have administrator privledges when trying to build the Installer.

Is there a application builder tutorial that you can recommend? Perhaps I need  some training.

There is a tutorial on Application builder that you can refer to by clicking on this link. You can double check the steps you followed to create the installer against the instructions provided in this tutorial. However, this error could be related to a lot of factors. To narrow down the cause of the problem, can you provide answers to the following questions:

1. What operatiing system are you using?

2. At what point of the build process does this error take place. Is there any more information on the build progress before the error occurs?

3. Are you trying to include any additional installers in the build specification?

Any screenshots of the build specifications would also be helpful in resolving this matter.

Answers to your quations:

    The operating system is Windows XP (SP2).

    The error seems to occur near the end of the build process.

    The additional installers that I am including are:
          NI LabVIEW Run Time-Engine 8.5
          NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.3
          NI-VISA COnfiguration Support
          NI-VISA Runtime 4.2
          Traditional NI-DAQ 7.4.4 (legacy)

Hi again Mehak,

I just discovered the error.

In the installer build options, the path in the 'installer destination' has a trailiing white space character which Windows didn't like.
