John,

I was curious about how the details of how voltage output mapped to the motor's response.

0V = off?

5V = X RPM?

Is the motor's response fairly linear over this range?

Are your relays actually changing the motor's power connections to make it turn in reverse?

I'm just trying to understand how your system works.  Like I said, I'm not well versed in PID but if I have some time this sounds like a good way to learn.

0V = off

5V = 6kHz

linear. Ya.

Anybody know how to define the sinusoid profile (forward for a meters distance and reverse for a meter distance) in the setpoint pid??

Would something like the attached VI work for you?

when I run the vi, heres the graph showing the result, see attached.

How to see its sinusoid forward and backward a meter each? Am I forgot to key in something? help to guide a little. thanks

John,

I forgot to save the vi with default values, but I think you'll need to set 'dt' to something non-zero.
