Thanks for providing the error log, Arnaud.

Have you tried using the offline installer? What about older versions (e.g. 20.6)?

Hi arnaudmartin -

Some unhandled exception is occurring early on launch of nipbcli.exe and nipbeditor.exe in a separate thread. We have never seen this type of error reported to us, but we did see this type of issue during development of 19.6, but obviously you are seeing it now.

The only way to debug this is to get more detailed information. The log information that you have shared is helpful but not detailed enough.

Questions/Suggestions:

  1. I assume you are on a French localized OS, but what is the OS version and bitness?
  2. I am assuming yes based on the above conversation, but can you please confirm that you are seeing the same error launching NIPB Editor with 20.1 and that latest 22.5?
  3. Can you check the NIPB log files located "%localappdata%\National Instruments\NI Package Builder\Logs" to see if there is any additional call stack information? Can you share that log with the forum or send to me directly?
  4. Do you have a version of Visual Studio and/or .NET SDK installed? If so, do you have the Microsoft's Fusion Log Viewer application located in a directory like this? "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v10.0A\bin\NETFX 4.6.2 Tools\x64\" The files are FUSLOGVW.EXE and FLOGVWRC.DLL (in a "1033" subdirectory).
  5. If you have the Fusion Log Viewer, you can:
    • Launch the viewer elevated as administrator
    • Use the "Settings" button to enable the option "Log bind failures to disk"
    • Then launch NIPB and let it exit
    • Click the Refresh button in the viewer to see what is logged.
    • You can double click on any line in the viewer windows to display the details in a browser window.
    • Example of use shown below:
      Scott_Richardson_1-1662835214996.png
  6. If you can do the above, could you share the details for each item logged with this forum or send to me directly?
