Error of time out expired before opertation complete

Hi,

I met an error message when runing the code

Error-1073807339 occurred at hp33120a initialize with options.vi

posssible reason(s):

Driver status:(Hex 0XBFFF0015)

Primary Error (Hex 0XBFFF0015)

Timeout expired before operation complete

The code has been running well for a long time. Recently I take out the DAQ card for other use. After reinstalling it again, it starts to give me this message. Is it possible of the hardware failure?

By the way, whenever I run the code, it always starts with a click sound. But now it does not make that sound anymore.

your help will be appreciated.

After reinstalling your daq card did you check to see if it is working correctly in MAX ( Measurement and Automation Explorer.)  It may not have the same name as before.

What DAQ card? How are you communicating with the instrument?

Your error message has nothing to do with a daq card. It seems that you are using an IVI driver and not the LabVIEW driver but the instrument should be visible in MAX.

Actually, this is not my first time take out the DAQ card and reinstalled again. The DAQ card is used to read data from the function generator. There is  GPIB-USB-B connect to the function generater as well. Since I did not change any thing but the DAQ card. I wonder whether that is because of the DAQ card fails.

The daq card is NOT failing. The error message said the failure is with the 33210 Initialize. Did you even look in MAX like I suggested? Did you check for a loose gpib connection?

Thank you for your help. But what should I do after I see the instrument in MAX?

Thank you for your suggestion. Actually my whole setup is like this: the PC connects with a GPIB-USB to a function generator to generate signal and the DAQ card is installed in the PC to receive signal. I found that initiation of the function generator is not working. I wonder wheter the GPIB-USB adaptor is not working (But the device manager shows it works properly). How can I know wheter the adaptor is working?

I don't know why you would be playing around with the Windows device manager. I already told you where to start and what to do.
