Error says M&A Explorer or Instrument I/O Assistant is not installed properly.

When placing a Instrument I/O Assistant Express VI on a block diagram, I get an error message saying that Measurement & Automation Explorer or Instrument I/O Assistant is not installed properly.

I'm using LabVIEW 7 Express, NI-DAQ v.7.1, NI-488.2 v.2.10, and Measurement and Automation Explorer 3.0.2.3005. The forum has mentioned a "driver CD." Is this just NI-DAQ? Where is Instrument I/O Assistant installed from?

I'm using Windows XP.

Itt's installed from the CD labeled Device Driver Reference. VISA is also required for the assistant so you should check to see if that's installed.

I found the disks. Now when the installer is initializing an error window pops up stating:
Fatal Error. Unable to create temporary file.

The "Details" button gives this clue:
Windows Error 999: Error performing inpage operation.

My Windows documentation says this error is usually caused by a defective CD. On Windows NT, however, it sometimes would occur due to a defect in the operating system (I'm using XP rather than NT, but it wouldn't surprise me if it still were a problem).

Do you think I have a defective CD?

Here are the error details:

K:\NIInstallers\dev\1.1.2\src\UberInstaller\UberInstaller.cpp(962): IInstallerError 10009
Fatal Error. Unable to create temporary file.
Unable to copy original D:\suppfiles\nipie.exe to C:\DOCUME~1\
MICHAE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\nii1D.tmp.
Windows Error Windows Error 999: Error performing inpage operation.

I tried rebooting the computer then repeating the install. It worked this time. Perhaps there was some lint on the CD. Anyway the Instrument I/O Assistant is now working.

Thanks.
