Eurotherm 2416 Configuration

Hello,

I try to get a Eurotherm 2416 via RS232 running. I can get the temperature without any problems, but when I like to enter the configuration menu, I recieve an error message, that he can't access the registers.

I am not sure, but where do I enter the passwords? I set the user an the config password to "0" (disable). But it doesn't work.

On the otherhand, no I can change the password with the included VI, but only once. Then I have to set it manually to "0" again.

Up to now, it seems that he run in trouble with the passwords?

any ideas?

Axel

P.S: I used the second example included in the driver package, but I doesn't work.

You need to select ACCP and CnFP for the passwords

The equivalent commands are: -QK and QI respectively

Thank you for your quick respons.

I am not sure where to select this parameters. The VI's I got from the NI accept only some "magic number" which will be written in some registers. Up to now I didn't find any way to pass a command.

In the example shipped with the driver the init and the selection of the config mode are working. But as soon as some values should be written it failed.

After switching to the config mode the Eurotherm displays

conf
0

and expect to enter the password. Maybe you can explain how I can pass the configuration password. "ET24XX Configuration Password.vi" changes my password only, but the rest produces still errors.

Thanks

Axel

Haaaa.......

It sounds like you have the MODBUS protocol drivers from the NI web site

Are you using MODBUS or Bi-Sync communication?
