Export EPS graph legend titles missing

When I do an export of a graph to eps and have multiple plots in the graph, then the graph legend does not show all the plot titles. It shows some kind of random behaviour. Sometimes plot1 title is missing, other times plot0 title is missing. I am using the export simplified image option from the right mouse click menu.

Software: Labview 8.5

Do other people see this behaviour as well?? I am quite happy to be able to export to EPS, because of scientific literature, but I am missing my plot legends now, thats a problem.

Awaiting any suggestions to solve this problem,

Ard Nieuwenhuizen.

I have attached an example to further explain the problem that I have posted.

You can open the eps file with gsview.exe or view it with any image viewer, but than you see the low resolution encapsulated tiff file. But this shows the problem as well, one plot title is missing.

Hello Ard,

I was able to reproduce it and unfortunatly I do not have a quick fix or workaround. It seems to be a problem inside this Method. I have reported it to our R&D department through a Corrective Action Request under ID 118293.

The only workaround which I can think of is exporting to BMP and converting the bmp file afterwards to EPS with a program which is able to that.

Hello RikP,

Thank you for answering my post. Please keep me informed if the Corrective Action Request has been taken into account. For the time being I will use some workarounds.

Ard Nieuwenhuizen.

i had this problem... it took forever to figure it out.  when i contacted labview, they new about it, but couldn't help.  this is what i did:

-with the VI stopped, take a screen capture of the graph.  paste the capture into ms paint, and cut out just the legend of the graph.  then past the legend onto the front pannel of the vi and place it over the real legend.

-if the legend changes programatically, take a capture of each different legend and paste them into a picture ring, and place the ring over the real legend.

Hello

I know this topic is 3 years old but I do also have this problem… Every time I export my graphics to EPS one or more random titles are missing. It doesn't matter if I export with the right click or if I do make it in the program code.

The solution from Bob3571 doesn’t work in my case. I could export to BMP an afterwards to EPS but that’s a roundabout way…

Does anybody know if NI solved this problem? Perhaps in a higher Version of LabView?

I am using LabView 8.5

Thanks

Marco

Dear Marco,

I have not checked recently the export options to EPS. I will try for you later this week if it has been fixed in Labview 2010.

Best Regards,

Ard Nieuwenhuizen.

Dear Marco,

I have tested with the recent Labview 2010 version, and it seems to be ok now, as you can see in attached eps file.
