Export restrictions (ECCN/EAR) for custom labview programs?

Hi all,

New here. My company has been asked to develop some custom labview code to measure medical device performance.  Does anyone know if any sort of export license or restrictions exist to send the code from the United States to China?

You'll need to start with talking directly to NI.  It's likely they already have an ECCN designation for the LabVIEW runtime.  You'll need to do the legwork yourself (or hire someone) to develop an ECCN designation for your particular software. I suggest your writeup include a description of the program, as well as any reasoning, if any, for why your software doesn't meet more restrictive designations.  You'll then need an export specialist (lawyer?) to make sure things are properly documented and filed.
