Extra characters in Write to File after Prompt User for Input

I initially write header information, then write collected data, and finally promt user to enter height of experiment which is then writen to same *.xls formatted file. After writing user input to file, I get extra garbage characters in the next row of the spreadsheet. I checked and the extra characters are inserted before the next sequence which is to close the file. Attached is a jpg showing a portion of my code and the spreadsheet showing my data and garbage.

Well, if this is really an excel file, you cannot just append plain ASCII data as you do here.

Have you analyzed what kind of string exits the blue subVI? temporarily place an indicator or probe there, then run the program again.

It would be much more useful if you could attach the entire program.
