FLASHING LED SYSTEM

HI,
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO REPLIED TO MY QUERRY. WELL LET ME GET MY PROJECT CLEAR. I HAVE A DAQ CARD AND USING LABVIEW I NEED TO DESIGN A SYSTEM WHICH WOULD CONTROL FLASHING OF LED'S. THESE ARE REAL LED'S WHICH WOULD BE PUT UP ON A SCREEN. EACH OF THESE LED'S MUST GLOW FOR A SPECIFIC TIME (A FEW MS(800-1000) AFTER WHICH THEY MUST TURN OFF AND THEN THE NEXT LED MUST GLOW. EACH ONE MUST GLOW RANDOMLY. I M RELATIVELY NEW TO LABVIEW AND LEARNING IT RIGHT NOW. I HAVE USED THE WAIT FUNCTION TO GENERATE THE DELAY BUT HOWEVER I END UP HAVING TWO CONTROLS AT A SINGLE DEVICE WHICH GENERATES AN ERROR. I UNDERSTAND THAT I MUST USE THE DAQ ASSISTANT FOR INTERFACING. HOWEVER HOW CAN I GENERATE APPROPRIATE DELAY TIMES. CAN SOMEONE GUIDE ME ON THE RIGHT TRACK SO THAT I CAN WORK ON THAT. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL WHO HAVE REPLIED EARLIER.
WAITING FOR REPLIES
THANKS
KUNAL

Your text is hard to read 'when you SHOUT'  and a Return line feed here and there helps too Smiley Wink

Besides Henrik's suggestion about de-activating the caps lock key, the standard protocol is that
you continue to reply to your original post and NOT start a new topic.

Anyway, I am understanding your request properly, I would set up some sort of random number
generation which would pick which LED would be one that is lit.
In a system using a DIO board, you would change the state of one output and leave the others
the same.

Hi nyc,

Is it possible to save ur led.vi at older version like 6i or 7.1? I have similar problem.

I'm using LV 6i and daq card pci-mio-16e-1. I have built my lv by using sequence. However my leds can turn on and keep flashing. But what I want is to turn on R while IR is off, Then turn on IR while R is off, then both off. Can you advise on how to do my lv?If possible, hope you can provide me a sample of lv as I'm very very new to lv.

Hi, Doraemon,

Not sure if the VI will work for you, but I have saved it in 7.1 format.

Hi nyc,

Thks for the help. however I'm using DO. Which means i'm connecting 2 LEDs to the terminal board and let Labview write on it. So I'm think how to make my LEDs turn on and off as my last thread.

In place of the Array Constant in that VI, you would change it to the port for your DIO board.
The VI is just an example show how to randomly flash some LEDs.

Sorry, didn't see this sooner.

But I have LabVIEW8 so I am only able to save the VI to version 7.1 and not to version 7.
