Do you have to simulate it, e.g. make a nice graphical demonstration that
uses a nice simulated signal? Or you need to get real FM data from the
ether?
What hardware do you plan to use?
Do you have any data you can send?
Once you get the signal, you should be able to simply get all zero
crossings, and the distance between them is an indicator of the signal's
frequency.
Same goes for the slope detection, although that seems to be a bit more
difficult.
