is it possible to decrypt gsm a5/1 encryption using ni usrp, i want to embark on this project and i know i would surely be needing some help on this

Is it possible?  Sure.  It's much easier if you both understand the algorithm and have the encryption key.  That's true for any tuneable antenna and software you can write.
