Fail to install LabVIEW 2011

When I tried to install LabVIEW 2011, it failed to install immediately.  It gave me the attached message.  I already have LabVIEW 2012 installed and I am using window 8 32 bits.  Can someone help?  Thanks!

Hello,

If you are installing LV 2011 then it should come NI Developer Suite 2011.. Isn't it??

Hi friend,

This is posing problem becasue 2012 is already installed in the computer. Two developement software with different versions in same computer is insane.

Hi Ranjeet,

I have LV 2011 and LV 2012 installed on laptop. ( Ideally only one LV version should be installed on PC but for my requirements i need this Smiley Very Happy)

I never faced such problem while installing.

Regards,

Bijay

This is completelly false.  The most development systems I've ever had installed at once was 9.  Many had different toolkits installed and all worked just fine.  This is not always the case but I had no problems.

It was kind of weird to me as well.  Some developer suite 2012 disc contains LabVIEW 2011 and some LabVIEW 2012.

I’m sorry you’re having difficulties with the installation. Some additional information may be useful to solve your problem. For instance, if you have windows, see if you can go to Start menu > All Programs > National Instruments > NI License Manager. In the Local Licenses tab, which versions are listed there?

Also, you may want to go to ni.com/downloads to try to download your desired version if it does not appear in the NI License Manager. You will need to activate the product after you download and install. You can do this in the NI License manager by selecting the product and clicking "activate".

Let me know if this helps,

Eric

In the local licenses tab, both 2011 and 2012 are there.  I am not sure why 2011 is there, since the download failed.  What should I do next?

Hello,

Here are some things that might help troubleshoot this issue.

1) Go to the NI LIcense Manager and expand LabVIEW 2011 tab and the LabVIEW 2012 tab.

At this point, determine the status of each subfolder for each LabVIEW  you have by the color box scheme at the link below (this info in the link can also be found in NI License Manager Help as well).

http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371136F-01/nilm/html/environment/

What is the status of each box?

2) Try activating the version of LabVIEW 2011 you purchased by highlighting the version and pressing "activate" at the top of the licence manager.

If it does not activate

What happens when you try this?

3) How did you purchase/aquire LabVIEW 2011 (download, cd, etc.)? And which version of LabVIEW did you purchase?

4) Was any LabVIEW ever on this machine before that you know of?

Best of luck,

Eric
