Did you mean:

Failure image.c Line 10863 ?

I was running a LabVIEW 5.1.1 application that uses RS-232 control to monitor the discharge of a battery. After about 9 hours of testing the program popped up a window with the surject line error message and then all of LabVIEW died. What happend and how to fix it?

Thanks for any thoughts,

Do you happen to have LabVIEW 6i as well?

I've only seed this error when using 5.1 and 6i at the same time.

I would suggest going to the "advanced" setting in your video card properties under windows and setting the acceleration to "none", this fixes most issues with image.cpp. If that works for you, I would suggest downloading a newer or more stable video card driver.

Hi David:

I do not have 6i, just 5.1.1.

I did reduce the acceleration from full blast (5) to step 2. Going all the way to the lowest step (1) caused jumpy window scrolling. Don't know if this will help, but it won't hurt anything either.

I think the real problem was a Windows\Temp file loaded with junk. Erasing all of it may have fixed the problem, but it's hard to say with a problem that's only happened once.

If you are running two versions of labVIEW at the same time and they both write the same files to the Windows\Temp directory, that could be a problem.

Thanks for the tip,

I have changed the advanced display seting to one notch above no acceleration, which is as low as I can tolerate and have changed to 16 bit color from 24 bit color, but still experience the same problem on a random basis. No other application has this problem.

It sure would be good to find a fix.
