Hello,
I'm having trouble with a LabVIEW executable I made. It has been installed on several computers and it's always worked perfectly. However, yesterday one of my co-workers tried installing it on his machine and he gets this error every time he tries to open the executable.
I've tried searching the forums and using Google to find the cause of this error, but I've had no luck.
It's strange because this error only appears on one computer. I've asked my coworker and he said he has the right LabVIEW RTE installed and every version of .NET, so I don't know what's causing this.
Any idea what I can do?
Here are some details:
- I'm pretty sure he's using Windows XP (every computer in our office has XP, I don't think his computer is any different)
- Using LabVIEW 2010 SP1
- The main VI has a custom run-time menu and a few of the controls have custom shortcut menus.
- It uses the .NET function System.Diagnostics.FileVersionInfo to read version info on some files.
Not sure what other information you might need.

I got the same error when running TestStand 2010 for the first time ever just now. I wrote a little VI and tried to add it as a step in the main sequence. Evidently there's something wrong with the environment, but I have no clue what it might be.
"Fatal Internal Error: "InitMenus.cpp" line 3194
LabVIEW version 10.0.1
You will lose any unsaved work. For assistance in resolving this problem, please relaunch LabVIEW or contact National Instruments."
and then clicking OK causes TestStand to die. Relaunching LabVIEW and restarting TestStand doesn't change the behavior.

Hey!
Looks like both of you are experiencing the same issue. The executable will work on all but one specific computer. While they still have the LabVIEW RTE, it sometimes gets corrupted when installing new versions of LabVIEW over existing LabVIEW software. Try manually deleting the Runtime folder and reinstalling the correct version of the RTE even if it appears that you have the correct one installed.
Hope this helps!

BothTestStand and CVI wouldn't run, and both generated the "line 3194" error. I called NI, and luckily they'd had a service request for the same problem. They said the problem was related to the LabVIEW Runtime Engine and suggested I install the version that goes with the latest LV version I have. I tried to install from the NI website and the installation failed, saying there was a later version of the LV RTE detected.
So I solved the problem by uninstalling that latest LabVIEW Runtime Engine. I had the prior version already. Now things appear to be working fine. Thanks to NI for the help.

Hey Roinabil,
It doesn’t seem like your issue is the same as what was previously being talked about in this forum thread. You should create a new forum thread and post your question on there. Also, please include more details about what you are trying to do and what is occurring.
Thanks!
