I like to set this up with a run / train bit for some things (items that would be useful for offline operator training). This allows me to build a simulated instrument that is used in train mode, which I can use while developing, and then when they need to train operators it is easy to put the system into a training / simulator mode so they can play with things without messing up machinery.
