Fieldpoint 5.0 for Labview 6.0 and MAX 3.1?

Hi,

I have Labview8.0, FieldPoint5.0, and MAX 4.0 on my computer where I made a simple Labview program (beginner) to record mass flow and temperature as a function of time.  However, the computer in the laboratory runs on Labview 6.1, FieldPoint 4.0, and MAX 3.0.  When I tried out the program, nothing happens (no data recorded and time doesn't "move") although no error message was shown either!

I think the main problem is the FieldPoint software and I am wondering if it's okay to install FieldPoint5 in the laboratory computer?  I don't want to disfunct the lab because I won't know what to do if i screwed up =).

BTW, I have built an .exe file from labview 8 on my laptop and also installed labview 8 run time program in the laboratory computer, so that is not the problem.

Thanks a bunch!

FP 5 is NOT supported in LV 6.1. Installing it will remove the previous versions of FP and you will be left with no FP VIs in your 6.1 palettes.

Which FP modules are you using? If you're using modules which didn't exist back then (like the 180x), then you might not be able to get them to work with 6.1 at all. If you're running the program on the controller, then it will need to be the same version as your IDE. To see if things work, you need to see if you can see the data from MAX first.

Anyway, I believe that the 8.0 license allows you to install on more than a single computer, as long as it's a single user, so that might be able to solve your problem (having the same version on all device should probably not hurt).
