Flatbed Scanner Driver Needed

Has anyone used LV to control a flatbed scanner? I need to automate the scanning process in LV by scanning and saving to an image file which I then will analyze using VBAI and LV. I am looking at HP scanners using the USB port but this doesn't have to be the case. Any info that you can provide in this area will be great. Thanks.

Hi Scan-man,

The following KnowledgeBase article says, "NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras is a free software driver for acquiring images from any DirectShow imaging device into LabVIEW. These devices include USB cameras, webcams, microscopes, scanners, and many consumer-grade imaging products. With the driver, users can configure their device, and acquire images into LabVIEW."

This KB offers lots of helpful information, so that's where I would start.

Also, you might want to consider the options mentioned in this forum, Communicate with a HP 4570c Scanner, as well as this forum, Using a HP flatbed scanner for IMAQ, which should have referenced this imageMill-Tech URL.

Hope this helps!
