Hi
I´m making a analysis-program for Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and have a matematical question about one of the last steps in calculating the absolute powers of low and high frequencies (LF and HF).
After making the Power Spectral Density (PSD) of the R-R intervals of 5min I have the PSD of frequencies from 0,0-0,5 Hz in s^2/Hz. Let´s say I have a delta-frequency of 0,05Hz and want to calculate the power of the High Frequencies (HF) from 0,15-0,4Hz, Should I then:
A) plus the frequency-bins of the PSD from 0,15-0,4Hz
or
B) plus the frequency-bins of the PSD from 0,15-0,4Hz and devide it by the frequency-range (here 0,4Hz-0,15Hz = 0,25Hz)
or
C) plus the frequency-bins of the PSD from 0,15-0,4Hz and devide it by the total time of the PSD (here 5min = 300sec.)
or maybe something different? I´ve been trying all day to figure this out but just can´t seem to get it... I should end up with a power-estimate in s^2. Hope someone can help!!!
Best Regards
Jesper
