We are going off-topic here 😉

It is the same discussion as usage of variables. Granted, variables have some additional "issues", but in essence, it comes down to the same level.

 

My credo here is:

If you are an advanced LV developer, if you know what you are doing, what caveats you have to circumvent and if you document it in the code, it is save to use this.

The problem often arises if new developers inherit such advanced code without having the required knowledge and starting to meddle in the code....

Yes Steve, I got it working, thank you. I guess I was lucky before, since each event structure was handling events from that screen only. No way to occur clashes like that before. I got a separated one for general events that could happen at any time. Then I messed up trying to embellish the UI.
