The formula I was trying to come up with was to predict the required voltage for a certain set point on any system just based off of how it performed in the bump test. If I got that to work out properly I was going to use that voltage as the initial voltage for running either a PID control or Fuzzy Control in attempt to make the one program more adaptable to other systems.
What I'm trying to do with the time I've been given is make one program I can be confident will work on several different systems without having to test on all those systems. Some of the systems are made to do structural tests on units so extensive testing on those systems is not plausible due to the fact that we would be blowing up a lot of products.
Another reason for the desire to find this formula and incorporate it into a Fuzzy Control is just as an exercise with a Fuzzy Controller and the knowledge I gain from it I can pass on within the company. This will then become part of the knowledge base that can be used in the future for any other project that may be done.
