The professional version is the one I gave the $3495 price for; it
includes the compiler for turning your VI's into stand-alone
executables.
Where I work, we use numerous Solaris and Linux boxes. The price
for a Linux seat is the same as the windoze version, but they want
an extra grand for the Solaris version - nevermind the fact that is
is little more than a recompile of the Linux version! I am not too
happy with National Instruments for that and other reasons; if it
weren't for the fact that some folks feel that they HAVE to use
Labview, I wouldn't even buy it (I use Python and C
myself; I can
code up a test program in the same or less time as it takes someone
to make a VI).
