GUI Bug at Frontpanel while editing in LV8.0 project

Hello,

since about 4 weeks i have the following (see attached screenshots)
visual bug in my LV project.

The Bug only happens in this project so far, but it is really annoying.

If you take a look at
Pic1: before saving
Pic2: after saving and moving some other windows

The Built itself is only affected in that way, that my windows, which has a fixed size, has some useless space at the bottom.

any ideas howto fix that issue finally ?

Best regards
fpoeck

Hi fpoeck,

what did you do until this "bug" happend? Did you copy objects by pressing Ctrl+left Mouse button?

Could you please check the position of all your blockdiagramm objects! Are there some objects far away from the other?

Hi TomBaum,

if i would be sure what caused that strange effect i would not ask here 😄

-> Yes i did copy object by pressing CTRL+LEft Mouse
-> I scrolled in my Blockdiagramm as far as i can to all sides, no elements or object found.
-> Should i do the same for the frontpanel ? As the bug is only visible in the frontpanel.

Actually the application is using fix windows size.....if i forgot to mention that aspect.

Is this bug known ?
Im wondering cause you ask so directly for those 2 things.

Best regards and thx for your input so far

fpoeck

Hi,

I would not say this is a bug, because there is no way to replicate this, but we have he heard of this problem already. One thing is the same to all users, which got this problem, they all use Ctrl+Left mouse button to copy objects.
Possibly there is a workaround which helps sometime. Copy the whole blockdiagramm with Ctrl+A -> Crtl+C to a new VI and save this with a new name. This might help you. Could you please tell me about the result.

Good luck

Well,

i would test that if LV would be possible to give me a working way to do so.

A) Frontpanel:
------------------------
If i make: CTRL+A -> CTRL+C on the forntpanel, and paste it into a new VI,
i have a solution from GUI Bug aspect.

BUT i dont have the function copied, only the GUI.

B) Blockdiagramm:
-------------------------
If i make the same on the blockdiagramm, it copies all Blockdiagramm elements
BUT NOT all frontpanel elements.

so basicly it seems that i am NOT possible to copy all elements at once.
why ever

C) Save as new VI:
------------------------
a save old vi to new name, doenst solves the GUI Bug problem at all.

So i feel forced to live with that ugly efffect
Bad things

Hi fpoeck,

I'd like to repeat what I told you:

Copy the whole blockdiagramm with Ctrl+A -> Crtl+C into a new VI and save this with a new name.

Do not copy frontpanel elements or save the same VI with a new name.

Mark and copy everything by using the
Ctrl+A (for marking) and then Ctrl+C (for copying) function, afterwards open a new VI (Ctrl+N) and paste it there in the blockdiagramm. When you have done this save the new created VI with a new name.

This should help you.

Hi again

i think you misunderstood my last comment.

i tried both methods...BUT and thats a big but....if i follow your instructions i can solve that GUI Bug with the side-effect that some parts of my Frontpanel are not part of the new VI

so i dont really like that idea 😄

got it now ?

Hi,

can you please tell me what kind of frontpanel elements you are missing after do the steps above? Are this indicators or other elements? Did you got that symbols before in the frontpanel and in the blockdiagramm or only in the frontpanel?
