Get status of 32 buttons on hotas joystick

I currently have a vi that calls on a dll file in order to get the states of the buttons on a 4 button joystick. I need to get 32 button statesfor a 32 button joystick, but have know idea how to do this. If I had a dll file that called 32 I could, but i suck at programming. Anyone that can get me started??
