I would find it useful to have a similar forum for raising issues on hardware devices, specifically DAQ. An area where users could ask if new devices with certain capabilities are being thought of, where a certain product line or interface type is heading, make suggestions for capabilites.
For example, I see a gap between the inexpensive USB 6008 16 bit device and most of the other USB interfaces. I would find useful a 24 bit USB device with a few channels, some digital I/O, maybe AO, for a few hundred dollars. Fast sample rate not needed, nor simultaneous sampling. Lots of chromatography applications could use this I believe. The 6008 is low cost and simple but just 16 bits and quirky. The 9211A is 24 bits but is for thermocouples and only returns temperature values not voltage. The new 9233 is AC coupled and relatively expensive.

Hi, i have ben using LabVIEW for 6 months, i have a difficulty in programming. I dont think it i a big one, but i am not getting the logic for this,
I have chosen 4 string controls from display using cluster. Now I want to validate the fields. I mean one field must accept only Date format, if I give any other format it has to give me an error message. 3 more fields for numerical number entry. I want to validate these fields also. If I enter some character, it should give me an error, and if I enter some big number (lets take some 10 digits..) it should give me some error, its like range validation.
Hope to get reply from soem one.
Thanks

I find that my Labview program suffers from Parallel Port Error 3 - an error whose meaning I'm clueless about. I am communicating with an ADE7753 chip, and communication between Labview and the ADE has worked successfully before. Now it's error 3 and gobbledy-gook on the data read. Anyone ever encounter this error?
