The adjustment occurs because of the length of the text (the longest string in the scale markers), and the font size.
When a new scale string is calculated, if it won't fit in the available space, LabVIEW shrinks the plot area (if the auto-adjust option is ON) so as to show the scale.
It's possible you have a different default font on your machine, or you're using Large Fonts in the control panel, or any number of things like that.
