HDMI to USB Webcam for garbing images with myRIO?

Greetings all,

Has anyone had any experience with streaming video from an hdmi cable to a myRIO? I don't specifically need a video but I'd at least like to grab image frames from the hdmi cable.

I am looking at using a device similar to the one found here: https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/cam-link-4k which will act like a USB Webcam following the UVC standard but I'm ultimately not sure if labview/myRIO will support it assuming I'm using IMAQ.

If anyone has experience doing something similar or knows if that Elgato brand device would work any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Follow up,

The Elgato camlink works as intended when connecting the FLIR DUO thermal camera to my PC. However, when I connect it to the myRIO I get a strange behavior. It appears as though the images being snapped are offset by a random amount, I've attached two pictures of the phenomena below:

myRIO_greenimage.PNG

I checked NI MAX to get some details on how the camera was connected on my PC vs. the myRIO and the only difference I saw was that my computer listed the camera bus type as DirectShow while the myRIO listed it as UVC

As seen by windows computer:

As seen by myRIO:

Assuming the bustype is my problem, is there a way I could change the myRIO to the DirectShow bustype? Or can I modify whatever is currently snapping these images to eliminate the offset?
