HMI Development using Labview 8

Hi,
  I want to know if i can develop an HMI full of aminations on Labview. Like, if i want to show a motor which starts moving when it gets a signal. or some valves opening or closing etc.  If yes , then plz let me know how?

Big question short answer.

Yes!

1) Start by learning how to customize controls and indicators. This will get you the biggest bang for your buck.

2) If you have access to the DSC add-on they have ready made objects for Indisutrail Automation.

3) A "gif" can be dropped on the front panel and will do its built-in animation. warning these can be CPU hogs.

4) A Picture ring can be crated to illustrate any repeating set of images. Agian pretty simple.

5) If all else fails, the Picture Control will let you do anything you are willing to code up.

I hope that helps get you started!

This was done without the picture control but did use XContols.
