Has anyone compiled a vi for the National Semiconductor Geode processor?

Has anyone compiled a vi from Labview PDA (pocket PC) for the National Semiconductor (now sold to AMD) Geode processor (x86), running on a LCD Panel PC? It is not listed as being supported by LabView Pocket PC version. I need to know if it can work before buying the Pocket PC version.

Theoretically, the LabVIEW PDA module for Pocket PC would work on the x86 processor if you build the application for the emulator (which compiles the code for the x86 desktop processor) but then deploy it to the Geode processor, but this has not actually been tested and wouldn't be supported by National Instruments. One thing you can try is to build an application for the emulator (if you know of anyone with the Pocket PC emulator installed)and then see if it runs on your PDA. I might be able to put one together for you, but it may take a day or two. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks,

I will sit with our local NI office and try to compile a VI. I have not seen all the options available when compiling for pocket PC. Any options we can try different from the default?

Hello Johannes,

When you target the execution to Pocket PC 2002/3 Emulation (from Options -> Switch Execution Target), there are two options for the processor: x86 and ARM (x86 being default). You can change these options by going to Tools -> Build for PDA and selecting 'Code Generation Settings' tab.
