Has anyone developed a LabView SPIDF module for a standard DAQ or DIGITAL I/O Board?

I am looking to both send and recieve SPDIF data using a standard Digital I/O board, probably the PXI-6508. Has anyone seen or written a SPDIF interface?

Most likely the 6508 card will not be fast enough to implement the SPDIF protocol. Even at slower rates SPDIF bit rates are in the MHz range, which will be too fast for this card.

One possible solution for SPDIF is the FPGA based 7831R reconfigurable I/O (RIO) card. Using the LabVIEW FPGA module you can program the FPGA on the card for a wide range of applications including implementing digital communication protocols. The card has 96 DIO lines and the FPGA communicates directly with these lines.

Do we have any details for SPDIF ? NI came up with
many fast DIO boards this year with superb software Waveform editors.
Is it possible to put concept sample on the web if the SPDIF commuunication can be done.
I have been asked by yamaha.
