Help! PDA un-defined error 120168006 and 134429006. Bad input argument to function.

Hi, does anyone have an idea of what the two errors mean? I 'm able to compile and run my PDA application but eventually the program crashes with these errors. ( 120168006 more oftenly) And the error message came up on the screen is "App Failed. Error code 120168006. Bad input argument to function."

I have looked up everywhere on ni 's website, only found few articles related to my problem and didn't really help. They are
<article removed>

When I compiled my code into a desktop application, it runs fine. I have been troubleshooting for 1 week and the problem is driving me mad.  Anyone has an idea what's wrong?

I'm developing on LV 8.0.1, PDA 8.0.1, Pocket PC Windows Mobile 2003 2nd edition.
What my program does is to catch some bit of sound and work about the fundamental frequency.

Thanks everyone!

Hello,

It looks like you found some good resources, which unfortunately didn't solve the problem.  I read through them and if the KB didn't help (addressing the subVI node setup if necessary), and you're not using multiplot CHARTS, then you may have a new case.  Is there any way you can post a simple version of your code which still reproduces the error?  If you can eliminate as much of the code as possible, perhaps we can narrow down where this is occurring and find a workaround.  In the worst case, if I can reproduce it here I'll be able to file a corrective action request to R&D to have it formally addressed.  Finally, one of the threads indicated that it worked on someone's PDA, but not on another's - is there any way you can try this on another PDA, to see if perhaps it happens only on that PDA?

Just for reference, the Getting Started Manual for LabVIEW PDA has a comprehensive list of supported features which may be useful.

I look forward to your repost and I hope we can get to the bottom of this!

Best Regards,

JLS

Hi JLS,

Thank you very much for you reply, before which I was in deep frustration as all the other posts were replied except mine. Ye, I have tried all the solutions that I found and still struggling the moment. Before I had some problems of LV doesn't like to compile code having formula nodes and expression nodes, and finally I came to look for help on NI forum.

I'm not using any chart or graph in my top VI, but I do have some in subVIs, but these subVI's front panels are not opened during processing, so I think they shouldn't matter, do they?

And I have loaded up the program on another PDA, the error persists; but they are all pocket PC 2003 with same OS Window Mobile 2003 2nd Ed. V4.21.1088. I have also read through the PDA manuals, no luck.

I'm not willing to share the code online, but if you can leave me your email, I can probaly send you a copy.

Thank you very much for your post again JLS. Looking forward to your reply.

Hello,

No problem about the reply - I hope we can figure this out soon!  I'm not supposed to put my email address here, but what you can do is send an email to support and note that this is intended for JLS.

If you can reduce your code as much as possible so that it still reproduces the error, that will speed the exploration process significantly.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!

Best Regards,

JLS

Hello,

Ahhh, I bet it went to our Australian branch (I did not see it yet).  But, the good news is we have a formal mechanism for communicating with branch engineers as well, so they will be able to explore it and be in touch if necessary.  In this case, I think having the code is key - once it can be reproduced, the exploration of the problem should be much more efficient!  There is more of a delay in getting updates about the discussion forum post than for emails, so I am guessing you have already heard back from an engineer about the problem.  More specifically, my guess is that the email went to supportaustralia@ni.com and not support@ni.com.

Thanks, and please repost (perhaps with your phone number) if you have any more logistical problems!

Best Regards,

JLS

Hi,

I was doing some more research on the matter, and there is a file containing error messages, some of which apply to PDA.  It installs with the embedded tools which are required for the PDA installation, so you likely have it.  The path on your machine should be:

C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce420\POCKET PC 2003\Include\Armv4\winerror.h

However, the errors 120168006 and 134429006 were not found there.  I even tried their hexadecimal equivalents (using the search/find feature in eMbedded Visual C++ to search the rather long file of errors) and did find the error definition.  In any event, I wanted to at least put that up here as well, and though it may be useful to you in the future!

Best Regards,

JLS

PS - Did someone contact you yet?  I hope so, and if not, definitely let me know!  Curiously, the only reference returned by google for those error numbers is to this disussion forum.

Hello,

As far as the error codes - they are in that file I referenced in the previous post, but as I noted, I didn't find them documented there.  I put that information there more for future reference, and it should install with one of the tools required before installing LV PDA.

As far as getting your code to me, here's a way we can do it and simply continue to communicate over the forum:

You could put your code on our ftp site - you can verify that you cannot read/download from this directory - only write/upload to it.  Internally, however, I can read/download from a replica which will allow me to get your code.  Just post here with the name of the folder or VI or whatever you upload there, and I'll snag it and take a look!

Thank you, and sorry about the logistical challenges!

Best Regards,

JLS
