Absolutely not. Every "netiquette" FAQ I've read states that unsolicited
advertising for goods or services is frowned upon in newsgroups. But then
"Flaming" is frowned upon too, which is exactly what I'm doing, so I guess
we are all guilty at times.
There are more appropriate places for solicitation, without wasting peoples
time, like http://www.dice.com, http://www.monster.com, or
http://www.hotjobs.com, just to name a few.
If you choose to post solicitation messages, it is always recommened to
include this information in the Subject line as "Off Topic" or specifically
stating this is a solicitation, so readers can ignore such non-informational
messages if they desire.
