Hide a control but still use it?

Hi all,

Bit of a random question, but is it possible to hide a control and still use it in anyway?

What I would really like to be able to do is use some custom made image buttons (JPEGs) and throw the over the top off a button and when the image is pressed it actually presses the button.

I am basically trying to improve the look of my application by giving it a cool glass theme 🙂

You can paste the image into a Boolean control by customizing the control. If you want to use a separate Boolean, you don't want to hide the control, you just want to make it transparent and place it on top of the image.

Is there any tricks that enable you to have a jpg gif bmp have the push button effect? I tried to customise a bool control and overlay the image button image over top of the transparent button and all works well, but it would be nice if when you click it looks like the pic was depressed.  is there a way in customise to accomplish this?

I would also like to see a pic of the front pannel when you are done.

Ok dumb question, but how do you make the control transparent? I know i have done this before. (old age)

Probably sitting right in front of me, but I cant figure out how to make a boolean push button transparent!

Will give updates on the GUI if it comes out ok :: going for a sorta OSX theme but with cool green shading on the glass 🙂

On the tools palette, you have the color tool which looks like a paint brush. Select that and then over the object you want to color, right click. The transparent option is the little "T" in the upper right corner.
