How I can get my encoder position from RPM to mm/sec?

Hummer,

Your link to "More about calculator" gives an Error 403 forbidden error.

Well, the manuafacter knows 🙂

Resolution of the A/B channels is 1um (0.001mm). There is a Z channel reference mark every 12.7mm. The outputs are open collector so you may need a pullup resistor for the channels, check the motor controller or drive manuals, it may show how to wire them up.

Hi,

I am using it without a pull up resistor. Why do I need one? It seems that it works without also. Is it for safety issues or noise?

Thanx for the previous ideas!

If it works then the hardware probably has internal pullup resistors built in- I did not reference the manual.

If it says that the output is open collector, you should add a pull up resistor of the proper size.

Here is a circuit note about that from wiki.  And, Yes, it is a noise and proper operation issue.

Thanks, for the fast reply.

The manual of the UMI 7764 says, that have to use a 2.2 kOhm resistor as pullup.

So, it works but for proper operation I will use the resistor.

Thanks
