How can I check to see if my DAQCard 1200 is working properly ? Can I do this without the use of LabView?

I have been trying to get a Lab View/Laptop  system running that used to work but doesn't anymore.  In order to determine if I have a hardware or software problem, I'd like to check the DAQCard 1200 first to see if it is functioning properly.   How can I check to see if my DAQCard 1200 is working properly ?  Can I do this without the use of LabView?    I have a ribbon Cable that connects the DAQCard 1200 to a CB50LP Terminal Block.
Thanks in advance to anyone listening.

What other software do you have installed, specifically which version of National Instruments NIDAQ driver and do you have National Instruments' Measurement and Automation Explorer (a.k.a "MAX"). With MAX if it was the version that was installed when the card was still working, you should be able to see the card in MAX's list and if so actually exercise it.

I have NI DAQ 6.0,  for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0.  I have Lab View 5.0 installed on the laptop.

I dont recall ever seeing "Measurement and Automation Explorer".

That's a very old version of NI-DAQ. I don't recall what if any configuration utilty came with that. I think MAX might have been introduced with version 6.5 in 1999. If you still need support for win95 (yuch), then it looks like 6.9.2 is the latest.

JohnSimon:

look under National Instruments-> MAX
if it is not installed it comes with the installation CD in the card.

Dennis, You are right, it will not work with MAX 7. to my recall, 6.9 was the latest it still worked with.

Note: John do not attempt to install a newer version of LAbview or MAX, without taking great care. newer versions will not work, and you will have trouble to reinstall older versions of MAX. so if you install new labview version, be carefull to uncheck the installation of MAX.

That said, the PCI 1200 is old, but very good.
