Hi yyaazziidd,
I think Ricky made a very good suggestions to use Excel to edit your TDMS file (in case you cannot use DIAdem
)
To read your TDMS file into Excel, you first need to install the (free) TDM Excel Add-In.
Follow these instruction about Editing TDM(S) files with the TDM Excel Add-In, to be able to convert them back to TDM(S) later on.
Use the ExcelTDM DataPlugin to read Excel files stored with the same worksheet layout as created by the TDM Excel Add-In by using the LabVIEW Storage VIs.
Use the "" to convert your TDMExcel file back to TDMS. Do not forget to wire "ExcelTDM" as "DataPlugin name"

I have a similar problem - a TDMS file that needs to be edited with Excel. I use the exact procedure that StefanR suggests, only something goes wrong: the new TDMS file is much smaller than the original, which causes trouble in subsequent analysis in Matlab. Basically, the 971 KB file becomes a 180 KB file, after making very minor changes to it. Any thoughts on what this might be due to?
Thanks!

Use the "TDMS File Viewer VI" or the TDM Excel Add-In to examine if both files contain the descriptive information (properties). Use the "TDMS Defrag Function" on a copy of the original file and see if the size changes, verify with MATLAB. Post your results here.

What version of Excel are you using? Row limits on older versions may be truncating your file.

Hi,
I also need to calculate some parameter with using the values of a TDM file, but because of the size of my TDM file(60 MB) Exel is not able to load the whole amount of data,so is there any solution to deal with big TDM files?!!!
Many thanks..

It sounds like you are truncating the number of points in the file. Excel has limits on how many rows it can import. TDMS is limited only by disk space. Your file is large. Check the number of points in the original and Excel versions.

First thanks for you answer,
I knew that its because of the size of tdms file,I would like to know if there is a way to edit this kind of big files without using Excel. Actually I have to calculate the Power and for that I need to compute the multiplied of two different column's value in my tdms file.
I would really appreciate if help me with this issue.

It's hard to give advice with since you're not providing much detail but it sounds like you either need to upgrade to the new Excel 2010 that can handle 2GB files or just do the calculations in LabVIEW. Are you hitting a RAM limitation or something? I've worked with huge TDMS datasets in LabVIEW and had no problems.

If you would like to achieve a comparable interactive approach as with Excel, I would suggest using DIAdem.
It works for even huge files and has powerful build-in math (and report generation and ....)
See attached screen shot.
You can get an eval here: ni.com/diadem
Sorry for posting a sales pitch, but it simply works....

I think Excel is not a good choice for big file,so I am trying to do the things in Labview or even in DIAdem.but anyway thanks for your tips.
