How can I match Driver Versions on different devices? (Error 88716)

No updates Available on the CRIO when checking the Update tab. I am trying to keep everything on Q1 2025. Thoughts on how to sync this one? I believe this is the root cause of my issues. My NI-9145 will not show up as an EtherCAT device when I try to add a new target and device to my cRIO.

  • Interestingly the "Incompatible Device Driver listed does not appear to be installed on my cRIO or my PC
  • NI-DAQmx MAX Configuration 2025 Q1 Patch 1 is set to 25.0.1 while NI-DAQmx Device Driver 2025 Q1 Patch 1 is set to 25.0.1f7

Hey there,

You need to update the software stack on the cRIO. You can do this by expanding remote systems in max, right clicking on the cRIO, and then clicking add/remove software. You will want to first remove the old software and then add the new software. If you run into issues, you can format the cRIO and/or update the firmware.

Negative, even after formatting the disc and doing a clean install of RT 2025 Q1 and software. What else can I look for?

Is it possibly an NI Error? IT might only show up when I add a password.

Check the add tab—that's where you add the software packages you need. The update tab will update the drivers on your computer, and then you need to add the packages to the cRIO.

I already have the necessary software installed, as you can see. There is no option to further update. Removing it and Adding it again merely reinstalls the same version.

Did you find a solution to this problem? I'm having the same issue.

I think I found a solution. Right click on Software under your cRIO and go to advanced -> manage feeds. Mine were all referencing 2025Q1 instead of 2025Q3. I updated the feeds manually, reinstalled the software on the cRIO, and restarted MAX. It seemed to fix my issue.

I ended up skipping 2025 Q1 and went with 2025 Q2. This has worked so far for me.
