How can I set the graph on the panel as buttons?

you can change the value of the clicked element from you intensity graph. Maybe another way is to overlay an image.

Hi Mike,

If I change the value of the intensity graph, do I need to update the whole graph? I only found "value" in the property node to change the element. And, if I overlay the image, the spaces problem is still there, for which it is hard to select pixels. Thank you for your reply.

yes you can only read and write all values.
