Hi McKevin ,

After going through your "short explanations" I can understand your need for a terabyte storage. :smileyvery-happy:

"Pleace" see the spelling of "Pleace" left as such, still uncorrected by me.

Partha, do you have anything at all to offer of substance to this thread?

Hi Kevin,

Sorry, I ve not worked much in RT, so cannot contribute with a valuable answer.

Thank you Partha,

Not everybody does all things.  I certainly don't.

I am really getting excited about LabVIEW 2009 and RT and all the new features and capabilities.

Anyway, in your spare time, take another look at RT, I think you'll find some uses for it.

Best of wishes, Kevin.

Kevin,

some people have what is called an infectious sense of humour.

I don't think you're one of them.

"Life can be short for some.  Enjoy yourself, your family, your friends."

Exactly.  This is why I'm finished with this thread.

Shane.

Shane,

I am afraid that most of the "humour" has been at my expense.

"Life can be short for some.  Enjoy yourself, your family, your friends."

I believe thats probably the only thing that I have contributed of significance in this thread.

Best of wishes, Kevin.

I'm just infectious.  That's why *I* am through with this thread.  😉

He could probably use a name change as well Smiley Wink

I'm not sure that falls under the catagory of 'professional conduct'

Dixy normous will always be a member... was that on purpose?  😉

Say hay Ray,

I missed the content of your last reply.  Looks like you edited it out by mistake.

What to you think:

Do you think that there might be any applications out there, that generate large quantities of data, that might benefit from larger supported storage capacities while still enjoying the benefits that a RTOS brings to the table?

Do beneficial characteristics an RTOS and the benefit of larger storage capacity have to be mutually exclusive?

McKevin.

Sorry...

I thought this thread was dead...  I looked at it and there were >30 new posts 😮

Humm...  That's a good question.  Maybe some security application where you want to do some image processing, such as scanning a person's face and look for recognizable feature.  Then store both the image and the recognizable features.  This would be done for a number of people who have access to some restricted area, thus the reason for saving each image.

Actually, most likely any application that has to do with video or imaging that requires processing while both scanning and processing, thus the RT requirement.  And the massive storage because of the nature of video and image files.
