Kevin,

I wouldn't know much about the RTOS practically, I've never used the system myself.

I would imagine that development and testing of a RTOS system takes quite a lot of time and also has a smaller market than "normal" OSes.  Therefore it would seem logical that they will be a little behind the cutting edge of modern technology.

I suppose there are always going to be applications which will reach limitations others thought to be no problem.

I mean, Bill Gates and his 640k.  You've gotta laugh.

Shane.

McShane,

McRouge also mentioned the same trivia earlier in this exact forum thread.

McKevin responded then:

Thanks for the trivia on Bill McGates.  I must have missed that one since I don't try to keep up with Microsoft.  I believe that he is a wonderful person and he and his family are doing wonders for the world in their "retirement".   The world needs more like him.

What I do remember is Steve McJobs telling us that we would never need more that 128MB and that we would never to need to do anymore software development because everything was already in the "ToolBox".

Anyway, I thought 6 or 7 years was a wee bit longer than just being a little bit behind the cutting edge of modern technology.

Give McLabVIEW Real Time a try.  Its a wonderful product.  I think you'll like.  I do.

Well yes, I was referring to the fact that it had already been brought up. (The Bill Gates and 640k topic)

And please, my name is Shane.

The 128MB thing just isn't as funny as the 640k thing.  It's not even close.

Truthfully dixy normous, let me know your address, and I willship you a 1.5TB drive.  Just letme know where you want it shipped and I will mark it to your attention.  Oh, PATA or SATA?  If 2.5” SATA, then the best I can do is 512G, or 320G for or 2.5” PATA.

Can I get a 2 TB hard drive?  I just bought a 1.5and it is not larger enough to hold a VI that one client has developed.  😞

😉

Sorry Ray,

My offer was strictly to dixy.  dixy never attacked me for font size.  Never called me names.

dixy just seamed genuinely resolved to accept and live with the small storage provided.

In the midst of it all, dixy seemed like a genuine nice person.

Anyway, dixy has yet to respond.

Methinks dixy popped in for a quick one, never to be heard from again. Have to love his full handle name (see post 17), but he is only ranked as a lowly member 🙂

Sorry,

The Mc was not meant as any form of disrespect.

I more Mac at heart than PC.

LabVIEW is more capable on a PC.

Well, yeah... :smileyindifferent:  Huh, To my defense must I say that I did not call you some names. That I did was to mention that 3. Group of people, no represented in this thread. Could feel some posters way of naming names somewhat insulting.

Can I have my 2TB drive please  Smiley Very Happy

Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

Thats a very kind offer however, I fear I must decline as I simply have no use for such a vast amount of storage.
