How do I check whether SCB-68 unit is alive or not?

I'd like to figure out whether my "SCB-68 NI7811R/7831R Device <NI PCI-7831R>" unit is still alive or not because I became not to get any signal from that device.

I checked "Mesurement and Automation"  program and it  told me just,
- RIO Devices(NI PCI-7831R = "SCB-68 NI7811R/7831R Devices") ) is working properly.
tough I have not been able to get correct signal from that unit.

I'm not sure which one is wrong, PCI-7831R unit or FPGA card, or both...
Do you have any method to check which one (or both) is wrong?

Thanks,

Kaoru

Does it offer a test panel for R-Series?  Have you tried a simple FRGA program just to read inputs?

Hello, thank you for your message.

>test panel
Although I checked web site, I could not find the information about the test panel for R series.
All I found is this discussion > http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=270&message.id=809&requireLogin=False
Though this discussion is a little old, R series might not have a test panel.....

>Simple program
Maybe it is worth to try because the program which I'm using now is a little complicated..
(I'm using the program made by the former researcher...)
I'll try it tomorrow.

<Additional information>
I found my SCB-68Unit was damaged and it seemed not to work any more.

Because  I have another SCB-68   which is usually connected to DAQ unit fortunately,
I changed all switch of this correctly for "NI 7831R".
But I could not get any signal from it by using my program.

Though I think I can use SCB-68 for both DAQ and NI7831R if I change the switch properly, is this wrong?

If my thinking  is correct,  does this imply that FPGA card was damaged?

Don't know unless I see it.  I would go with a simple test program to test functionality and check where you configure pins.  The digital is good (I think) to 5 VDC so if you didn't overvoltage it it shouldn't be burnt out.

Thank you for your reply.

I checked the system with a simple program (see attached pictures).
But this did not work properly.
With this program,
I supposed...
-Numeric & Numeric2 should be counting up.
-Boolean lumps named TDC2 and CA3,  should be always blinking.
-Boolean lumps named TD & CA should  NOT blink.

But
"Numeric2" did not count up, and "Numeric" seemed not work properly(compare Running1 with  Running2)
TDC was never blinking though CA3 was always blinking,
Stop buttoms did not work.

So maybe something is wrong with my card.
I think I should ask NI to repair it.

I appreciate for your help.
