How do I get the Instron tensile tester.vi file

Hi,

I have an Instron Mini44 tensile tester and am planning to use labview to control the instrument and for data acquisition. I was wondering how I could get the Instron Tensile Tester.vi file. I have never used LabView nor the tensile tester before. I read online that in order to run this instrument I would need the virtual instrument file. Is it something we can purchase from National Instruments or Instron? I would appreciate any help on this matter.

While we have over 5,000 free instrument drivers available on our website, it doesn't look like we have one for your particular instrument.  I would suggest contacting Instron to see if they provide a LabVIEW driver for it.  Other than that you can request a driver be made for it here.

Thanks,

As I have reported elsewhere in this forum you must also take safety into account. Depending on your geographic location there maybe strict laws governing the control of machinery (e.g. CE).  A testing machine can be a dangerous piece of equipment and the operator can be badly injured if your control system fails.

You may be sued if someone gets injured and your control system caused the problem.

My strong recommendation is to seek a testing machine manufacturer with the functionality you require so that they are responsible for the safe control of the machine, and you get a well supported product.  Have you tried www.zwick.com  I think they as the global market leader in static testing systems should have the infrastructure and capability to help you.

If I can assist further then please come back to me.

Regards

David
