How do I name a LabVIEW project at time of creation?

Solved!
Go to solution

Whenever, I create a new blank project, it is named "Untitled (n)", where n is a serially assigned number.  I am not given a chance to enter a name during the creation process and have not found a way to change it in the Project Explorer window.  By the time it appears in the Project Explorer window, the directory structure has already been created (named), so it's really too late.

Can someone tell me how to assign an arbitrary Project Name at the time of creation?

Have you tried to save the project ?

"Save" just saves it with the Untitled name.

"Save as" works but it seems like there is an unnecessary step here.

When you hit save, you should be able to select a naming of your choosing.

When you select save, it will use the untitled name by default but you can use any name you want when the file dialog pops up. Whether you select the name when you create the project or when you save seems to the same number of steps to me.

I don't know how I missed this.

It works like almost every other Windows application I've seen.

Thanks to all who took the time to respond.
