Now I need to build an appliaction.  I have LabVIEW 7 and have the Appliactions builder installed on my PC but can't for the life of see how to launch appliactions builder.  I can't find project explorer.

I am using this link as a guide:

Have I gone completely mad?

You haven't gone completely mad.  That link you provided is only applicable to LV8.

In 7.x, you need to go to Tools->Application Builder (or build exe... - either way, it should be obvious), and go from there.

Good luck

In LabVIEW 7 you should be able to see under the Tools Menu. The option Its something like Build Application Or Shared Library. I am at home and don't have LV installed here so I am doing this from memory.

That link is for Labview 8.0 which is the first version to have the project explorer.

Just in case its installed but you can't see the option under tools. This link might help you there.

Hi Guys

Many thanks for the replies you have been sending me.  I didn't get taken away in a white van!

I have managed to open build application or shared library in LabVIEW 7.1.  However I am confused as to what to do now.  Is there a link similar to the one below for LabVIEW 8 that leads you through the compilation process?

Many thanks

Goto Labview Help and click on the index tab and type building then double click applications in the list below. You should have a page in help titled Building a Stand-Alone Application

There is a User Manual which you should refer to in \Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\manuals\appbldr.pdf

That should get you going

David

Edit: Removed drive in front of path. Depends on where you installed labview.

Hi
In LV7, it should be on the menu:
Tools > Build Application or Shared Library (DLL)...
