How do I repair missing fonts on my LV 6.0 Help function?

I have a local copyu of LV 6.0 installed on my machine. I recently installed a company networked version of LV 7.0. When using 6.0, I noticed that the words for the Search, Index, etc. tabs on the Help Function have been replaced by question marks. I seem to have a missing font problem. I have un-installed both 6.0 and 7.0 using the ADD/REMOVE probrams function under Windows XP. Apparently, some needed file is now missing. How can I repair this?

bearcat61,

Have you already reinstalled LV 6.0 ? If you still have this problem try to use registry cleaning tools such as regclean before reinstallation. Does the problem appear with LV60 + LV70 installation or only with LV60 ? Do you have the same appearance of help windows in other programs ?

Arek,
Thanks for answering. Yes, I have removed both 6.0 & 7.0 and reinstalled 6.0 only. I had an IT guy go through the registry and manually remove anything related to LV. The problem still occurs in the reinstalled 6.0. Internet Explorer's Help function is working normally. I negelected to tell you that I am running 6.0 under Windows XP. This problem may have always been there, but, I never noticed it until after I installed 7.0...All other LV 6.0 functions appear to work normally, but I haven't used every function yet...Is 6.0 compatible with XP? It would help if you can tell me what .hlp file is used, or what registry entry I should look for - then I could remove, repair, or replace it. This is one of those nagging problems that bother me and
I would like to fix it...Thanks again for your efforts!

bearcat,

As a matter of fact we do not support LV 6.0 under Windows XP. I've tested LV 6.0 + Win XP and your problem appeared exactly the way you described it. There are probably some compatibility issues between .hlp files compiled with LV 6.0 and one of help viewers available in Windows XP. Since version 6.1 help files were converted to HTML help format viewed with different software.
