How do I send raw data to a USB IrDA header

I am trying to replace a serial IrDA header with a USB header. Currently I use the serial in/out VIs to read and write data to the header.
I have tried setting up a VISA driver for the header which creates an INF file but the device is not listed if you go into VISA interactive control.
Has anyone done anything like this? Am I going about this the right way?

You'll have to know the complete protocol your USB device expects, but it is possible. Yes, you start with the Driver Development Wizard to create an INF file, and then it should just automatically appear in VISAIC and in MAX. It's possible you may have missed a step along the way.

Here's a new tutorial that may help you: "Using NI-VISA 3.0 to Control Your USB Device"
